About TIPS - What Makes Us Strong

The TIPS training system improves range of motion, stability, balance, and functional strength while retraining critical movement patterns. It also trains and conditions correct body mechanics with job or home activities, prepares the body for work, creates movement efficiency, reduces joint stress, and can counter the effects of repetitive job activities, vibration, positional stresses, loading, and more. While the TIPS approach continued to evolve over the years, the founding principles that drove the start of Tailored Injury Prevention Solutions are still very much intact.

  • Provide a true solution to the problem source.
  • Keep it simple.
  • Keep it relevant.

It is why I can say that TIPS consistently reduces our clients' MSDs, sprains, and strains by 50% – 90% in the first year and that those results are sustainable.

More About Maria Sall… Who Is She Anyway?

Ergonomist, Exercise Physiologist, Injury Prevention Specialist, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Functional Movement Screens 1 & 2 (FMS), and More… And even more, PLUS 25+ years of experience helping people, teams, and businesses succeed in reducing injuries, stress, and costs.

Maria is a big kid that loves to play and thrive and help others do the same. If we hurt, we don’t play. If we struggle to function, we don’t thrive. This is true for both individuals and the companies that they work for. With her passion for helping others feel good doing what they do and have more fun in life, Maria looks for every opportunity to do just that.

In college, she started teaching fitness and coaching people. In the military, she became a Master Fitness Trainer, helping her fellow soldiers and the whole company be fit for duty and for life. With every auto injury, work comp, or other patient she worked with in rehabilitation facilities, she would dig deep to find a way to help her patients where others had not. At every company she has worked with, she seeks out and helps as many people as she can, even those that initially do not want help or think they are beyond it.

It is said we make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. We only get one shot at life; let’s make it a good one!

In her free time, Maria loves to ski, hike, kayak, mountain bike, read, and ballroom dance. Maria has two children who have grown up learning the importance of health and safety and who regularly share their application of this in their own work environments, making their mother very proud indeed.

We teach people how to use their body without using it up.

-Kenny Cribb, Director HS&E of Rolls Royce Naval Marine

"The TIPS program continues to lower injury experience especially involving “soft tissue issue" type injuries."

-Mark Bruce, General Manager for BNSF

"TIPS Train the Trainer class for back injury prevention was excellent. It makes the student take ownership of knowing and leading the course material."

-Scott Baduauz, Safety Coordinator for Harvey Gulf

"In the past year we implemented TIPS SPARCS training program. Managers/Supervisors are leading employees in stretching and employees are doing TIPS related injury prevention exercises before and after work. In comparing our OSHA recordable from the year before using TIPS, we have decreased our soft tissue injuries by 80%!"

-Derek Hitesman, EHS Manager for HP-Hood--Arkport

"Thank you for the training you provided. The crews really enjoyed your training and the office employees have already asked me if I’m bringing you back up for them. The front receptionists also liked your approach and wanted to make sure I bring you back. The individual training is priceless. The only negative comments we received from both groups is why didn’t we start this training sooner."

-Mike Mead, Manager of Safety for Cass County Electric Cooperative

"The TIPS program is not only impact-full at work, but also impact-full for their [employees] personal lives."

-Victor Meyers, Vice President Operations for Twin Cities & Western

"I would recommend TiPS trainers and programs to anyone looking for ways to reduce workplace injuries. We started working with TiPS five years ago to help reduce soft tissue injuries at our industrial processing facility that employs 160 process operators, maintenance technicians, managers and office workers. A certified athletic trainer visited our plant weekly to provide instruction and coaching for optimizing working postures and to provide a better understanding of muscle groups and connective tissue. Nearly 50% of OSHA recordable workplace injuries were strains, sprains, back or other soft tissue injuries before the education and coaching provided by TiPS trainers. In the last five years since TiPS trainers have been working with our employees, including a daily active stretching routine for higher risk employees, our overall injury rates are down significantly and soft tissue injuries in particular are now below 30% of total work related injuries."

-Joe Score, Safety Manager for Bunge Council Bluffs, IA
