Shoulder
Did you know that most people have some sort of dysfunction in the shoulders, whether they feel pain or not? The shoulder is such an intricate joint that there is a lot of potential for pain and injury.
Our bodies are very picky when it comes to position. If our posture isn't right or our body position is even slightly off, certain muscle groups will shut down and cause an imbalance in the body. The shoulder is one of the best examples of this in the body. Because, let’s be honest, most of us have a lot of work to do to improve our posture, the position of the shoulder joint is never quite right. Some muscles, such as the rotator cuff and rhomboids, can completely shut down with bad posture. Other muscles, such as the latissimus dorsi and the trapezius become overworked and sore.
TIPS can teach you the delicate balance of positioning your body so the muscles will start to function correctly to take stress off of the shoulder joint.
