Repetitive
Sometimes it's the littlest movements that can cause the biggest problems. Repetitive motion injuries are often related to small movement- typing on a keyboard, operating a joystick, even prolonged sitting in a rough riding vehicle (semi truck, locomotive, etc).
So how can we fix the problem and still perform our jobs? There are many considerations for providing the right improvements. TIPS will look at the individual performing the job and identify improvements that can be made in posture and positioning, movements and counter movements, lifestyle contributors and other changes. We also look at any changes that can be made to the job itself, without compromising other safety needs or productivity. We frequently consult with your own tooling professionals, employees that perform the job, managers and others to broaden the perspective for potential solutions. TIPS also designs pre and post activities specific to jobs to reduce the build up effect that may inevitably be part of that job.
So when it comes to repetitive motion problems, always remember to use POSTURE, POSITION, and COUNTER MOVEMENTS. Now that’s a cycle worth repeating!
